INSTALL
Put Tab on your home screen.
Tab is a Progressive Web App — no app store, no review, no update lag. Add it from any modern browser and you get an offline-aware icon that opens straight into the dashboard.
On iPhone (Safari)
- Open thetab.bar in Safari.
- Tap the Share icon at the bottom.
- Scroll down → Add to Home Screen.
- Confirm. The Tab icon appears on your home screen.
On Android (Chrome)
- Open thetab.bar in Chrome.
- Tap the ⋮ menu → Install app.
- Confirm. The Tab icon appears in your app drawer.
On macOS (Safari or Chrome)
- Safari: File → Add to Dock… Chrome: open the install icon in the right side of the address bar.
- Pick a name (Tab) and confirm.
- Open it from Launchpad or Spotlight.
On Windows / Linux (Edge or Chrome)
- Open thetab.bar.
- Click the install icon at the right edge of the address bar (looks like a monitor with a down arrow).
- Confirm. Tab is now in your Start menu / app launcher.
What you get from the PWA
- A dedicated window — no browser chrome to distract from the checkout or dashboard.
- A native-looking icon, app switcher entry, and notification surface (where the OS allows).
- Offline-aware UI — your address, recent orders, and wallet UI render even if the network blips. Posting requires connectivity.
- Faster cold-start than the web app — the shell is cached after the first visit.
What it isn't
It's still a browser-based app — same wallet, same key, same IndexedDB encryption. Installing the PWA does not move your wallet anywhere new and does not bypass your PIN. If you uninstall the PWA, your wallet stays in the browser's IndexedDB and you can re-open Tab in a normal tab without re-creating it.
